Rotary Club of Bargara

The Volunteer Coast Guard (VMR) is an important organization in the coastal area of bargara and is the primary marine search and rescue hub along the coast.  Each year the VMR hosts a fishing competition of 3 days to raise money.  Our club sells food and drink for the event and all profits are donated to the VMR
Q150  The club has been successful in obtaining a QLD government grant to celebrate 150 years of Queensland Government.  The grant money is being used to erect a number of bronze plaques along the foreshore that will display historical information in connection with the area.  The plaques are in prominent laces for visitors and locals to read along the walkways
